I actually heard about the event through work: I wrote an advertorial feature for the charity/the Guardian and thought it sounded like a fantastic thing to do (and now you can't say I don't practise what I preach!)
Who wouldn't want to amble through a vineyard at twilight and then wind down with a picnic and firework display afterwards??
On a more personal note, my uncle - and my stepdad's brother - both passed away earlier this year and I wanted to do something to recognise the fact that both were cared for in the same Marie Curie hospice towards the end.
If you would like to sponsor us - and wine/fireworks aside, 10k will certainly be a challenge for El -you can simply click this link to our JustGiving page and do your bit.
Every £20 we raise pays for another hour of Marie Curie care, so even a small donation really helps.
Thank you.
