On account of starting my new, scary grown-up job today, here's just a little taste of what we got up to at the weekend.
We were down on Clapham Common, having a feast of a time at the Foodies Festival....
With lots of interesting booze stalls, cuisine from all over the world and local produce too, there was plenty for us to get excited about (plus we found the barbecue of our dreams - more about that later). El wasn't too fussed about the kids' cookery theatre and cooking classes, but he loved watching Anjula Devi making classic curries and getting his laughing gear around gourmet burgers and a hog roast.
There's another one of these foodie festivals in Battersea Park during August 2013, and I'm sorely tempted to go (in spite of having something of a dicky stomach all day today - perhaps it was the combination of all that rich food washed down with lemojitos and 7.5% Black Dragon cider?)
The cover price (£15 each) is expensive given you're essentially paying to shop and buy food/drink, but we had tickets comped on account of my other half doing some artwork for the festival, and there are usually ways to get your hands on a freebie if you do some research ahead of the date.
It was a fab family day out and even though the sun didn't shine it made for the pefect summer afternoon...
